Champions Celebrities are delighted to announce that not one, but three of our legendary sports stars will be appearing on national television this weekend!
Snooker legend Willie Thorne, Barcelona Olympics icon Derek Redmond and Ryder Cup hero Tony Jacklin CBE will star in a special sports edition of BBC’s Pointless Celebrities, the general knowledge quiz in which four teams try to come up with the answers that nobody else could think of.
Broadcast on BBC One and presented by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman, Pointless has been around since 2009 and has proven one of the most popular game shows in recent years, with 14 general series and eight celebrity series to date.
Willie and Tony make up one team, while fellow Champions celeb Derek is paired up with Tessa Sanderson, the first British woman ever to win Olympic gold in the javelin thanks to victory at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Their competition will come in the form of darts duo Andy Fordham and Deta Hedman, as well as the rugby combination of union veteran Nick Easter and league legend Martin Offiah.
To watch Willie, Tony and Derek in quiz show action, tune in to Pointless Celebrities on BBC One at 6pm, Saturday 30 January.
