Gail Emms MBE is a British badminton player who has achieved international success at the very top of the game. Together with her partner Nathan Robertson, she achieved a number one world ranking in the mixed doubles, All England Champion, Commonwealth gold medallist and Olympic silver medallist at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
Since retiring, Gail has proved herself as a talented and versatile sports presenter, with stints on the 4Sport show on Channel 4, Sky Sport’s badminton coverage, Radio 5 Live and A Question of Sport, among many others.
The London 2012 Olympic Games provided a fantastic opportunity for Gail to act as an ambassador for badminton and for British sport as a whole. She worked with the BBC throughout the Games, commentating on a variety of Badminton games, as well as continuing her vital work as an ambassador for the Youth Sport Trust. The Olympic Games boosted British interest in sport and Gail is keen to continue the country’s enthusiasm for both sporting excellence and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
