Nottingham’s sporting awards ceremony

Hosted by Olympic badminton player, Gail Emms MBE and sports writer and broadcaster Pat Murphy, the Nottingham Sports Awards were once again a great success.

Held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, on 27 October 2016, the glittering awards ceremony, which was headline sponsored by NET Trams, was attended by stars from the world of sport, including boxing great Carl Froch MBE and Paralympian athlete Richard Whitehead MBE.

Celebrating the achievements of Nottinghamshire’s sporting community - both professional and amateur, the awards recognise the impact sport can make on a community. With 16 accolades up for grabs, including the Community Award, Under19/School Team of the Year as well as Professional Footballer of the Year, the awards marked a great opportunity to celebrate and reward the county’s sporting talent.
