The UK’s leading independent business communications provider, Tela, were in attendance at the latest Champions Club event at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
The Champions Club members joined a whole host of other regional businesses for the event which also saw them take in some exciting Cricket World Cup action. As well as enjoying New Zealand take on Pakistan in the tournament, guests were in the presence of some true cricketing greats.
2005 Ashes winner and England cricket legend Matthew Hoggard MBE was in attendance as the host of the event. During the course of his career he represented England on 93 occasions and also starred for Yorkshire and Leicestershire in the domestic game.
He also hosted a Q&A with former South African all-rounder Mike Procter. Mike appeared for his country in seven Test matches and in domestic cricket played for Gloucestershire, Natal and Rhodesia. He was also named ‘Wisden Cricketer of the Year’ in 1970 and upon retirement in 1989 became a match referee. He gave audiences an insight into his remarkable career with a number of fascinating anecdotes from his time in the game.
Tela also brought along four guests: Martin Passway, Shez Cheema, Lynn Morgan and Neil Morgan.
