Brief
We were tasked with creating local awareness and the running of a launch event for the second NKD waxing and beauty salon opening in the Midlands, in order to drive appointments to their door. We were to position the salon to both men and women showcasing their brand as specialists in creating comfortable and better experiences than that of any other salon in the area.
Delivery
Our PR team delivered an all-encompassing campaign plan for the Leicester city centre branch, which involved a pre-launch and post-launch opening release as well as press invites and blogger invitations to the launch event. Tapping into the rich history and culture of Leicester we also ran a tongue-in-cheek stunt release which saw nkd produce a selection of cheeky yet tasteful images that show Leicester’s best bits in a whole new light using rugby balls and footballs which peaked the interest of the local community. The stunt promoted both waxing essentials for men and women.
Outcome
Recognising Champions and nkd for the delivery of this campaign industry titles such as The Drum, PR Week, Niche Magazine, BBC Radio Leicester and Leicester Mercury were some of the many who featured news of the salon opening, receiving 18 pieces of press and 3,954,950 potential readers.
