To generate brand awareness and drive ticket and amateur team playing registrations in support of the inaugural European Senior Masters, a new event on the official European Senior golf tour held at the Forest of Arden in October 2017.
Our Public Relations team created a range of high impact press hooks around the tournament’s ‘new entrant’ status on the European Senior Tour, emphasising the quality of the professional line-up and the fact that it was the first sanctioned tour event held in the Midlands for 10 years. They also created a range of press releases as competitors and guest celebrities confirmed their involvement and as new sponsorship partners were found, adding to the prestige of the event. Our copywriters created engaging thought leadership pieces, establishing the credibility and authority of the event with comments gleaned from pro golfers and celebrities to enhance its appeal. Their hard work was backed up by our social media specialists, who generated a buzz across social media platforms, especially those of many participating golfers and celebrities, who added to the reach of our social initiatives.
The inaugural tournament was a huge success, attracting north of 10,000 spectators and over 20 strategic partners. Our team then leveraged its long-standing media relationships to generate a circulation figure of 1,007,781,768, securing coverage in a total of 385 digital and traditional media pieces in national, regional and specialist sports and golf publications.
