Brief
To create Leicester’s UK City of Culture 2017 bid document, plus all supporting presentational materials, including audio visual content.
Delivery
We worked closely with both Leicester City Council and Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce to devise and evolve a logical framework and a series of visual concepts communicating the strength of the city’s diversity and its cultural assets. Our team of writers and designers collaborated to create a high impact bid document, with a striking look and feel. The document was supported by a range of audio visual material that was delivered after a meticulous process of storyboarding, scripting, refinement, production and editing.
Outcome
While Leicester was ultimately pipped to the post by Hull in being named the UK City of Culture 2017, the bid was widely praised for its conceptual strength and its underlying rationale. Our input, shaping the overall positioning of the city’s cultural landscape, has been credited with making a significant contribution to the Council’s ongoing strategy, in particular in terms of its drive to attract inward commercial investment.
