This building services organisation had historically relied on its mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) heritage but, over the last seven years, the development and rapid growth of a data centre installation specialism had radically altered the nature and the balance of the business.
We helped the company build a new business structure that saw them adopt a group model to bring the two services – MEP and data centres - into ‘family brand’ alignment. At the same time, we devolved the two elements into two independent, specialist offerings aimed at different marketplaces. We changed WBS MEP to WBS Building Services in order to allow for the broadening of service offering and to communicate clearer messaging to the market. We also created WBS Data Centre Solutions to ensure that the firm maximised the value of their seven years of successful project delivery in this rapidly growing and increasing competitive market. This development work also had a global dimension, including activity around a new office opening in Paris to support a £100m contract and expanding WBS Group’s global presence and delivery capabilities.
