Hosted at the historic Copt Heath Golf Club from April 24-25, the event will feature the brightest talents in junior golf from across the UK and internationally.

The tournament, now in its 44th year, will continue its tradition of challenging girls and boys under the age of 18 to compete at the highest level of junior golf. It is named after Peter McEvoy, one of the most accomplished amateur golfers in British history, whose name has become synonymous with excellence in junior golf.

It has served as a launchpad for many young golfers who have gone on to achieve success at the professional level, with former victors including Justin Rose, Lee Westwood and Tom McKibben, who continued into renowned careers in the sport.

The sponsorship comes as Champions’ latest in their 20+ years of experience specialising in the growth of golf tournaments internationally.

John Hayes, CEO of Champions (UK) plc, commented: "As proud sponsors of the Peter McEvoy Trophy at Copt Heath Golf Club, we are honoured to support such a prestigious event that continues to shape the future of golf.

“This tournament has a rich history of showcasing future stars, and I have no doubt this year’s field will deliver incredible performances.

“I can’t wait to witness the skill on display, and it’s an honour knowing that we will play a vital role in developing the game’s next generation."

The format involves 72 holes of open stroke play, with all players competing in the first 36 holes on 24th April. The field will then be cut to the top 40 competitors, who will play the remaining 36 holes on the final day where each year’s champion will hold the iconic trophy for the next 12 months.

Looking ahead to the competition, Ian Davidson, tournament director revealed: “Our team at Copt Heath are all looking forward to once again hosting the traditional curtain raiser for the elite junior golfing season.

“I’d like to once again thank who our members who undertake all the refereeing, scoring, ball spotting and other tasks involved, as well as our sponsors at Champions, whose deep knowledge in golf will help the Peter McEvoy Trophy grow internationally.

“There is a stellar list of previous winners, including Justin Rose, Lee Westwood and Tom McKibben to name a few. Each year it is closely followed by national squad selectors as it a great chance for the golfers to impress with their early season form. Many previous entrants have gone on to enjoy successful professional careers.
